I’ve always been someone who believes people are capable of far more than they realize. That belief is what shaped every chapter of my life, from college to sales to building an app entirely on my own.
While I was in college, I worked part-time at CarMax Mid Rivers. I became the first part-time employee to reach and maintain President’s Club. I loved connecting with people and helping them make confident decisions, and that experience opened my eyes to how much potential people can unlock when someone believes in them.
During that time, I created the original business and marketing plan for what would eventually become the Hero Culture app. I didn’t have the funding to hire developers, so I committed to learning everything myself. I spent years studying personal development, psychology, UX design, and software creation in every spare moment.
After graduating, I went full-time at CarMax and ended up breaking four store records in a single month while also holding the highest customer rating. When the car market shifted in 2020, I transitioned into insurance with AAA. By my third month I was leading the office in both sales and customer satisfaction, outperforming tenured agents who had been in the business for decades.
But beneath all of that, I was still building Hero Culture.
I officially founded Hero Culture LLC in September 2021 and launched my first app demo a few months later. In 2022, I went all-in. I took out a personal loan, dedicated all my time and resources, and poured every ounce of myself into building something meaningful.
On April 6th, 2023, the Hero Culture app launched on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in the United States, rolling out worldwide in the months that followed. Funding, designing, building, and running a social app by myself was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it taught me more than any classroom or job.
It taught me about people.
It taught me about alignment.
It taught me about what one person can do with a vision.
It taught me about my limits, and the importance of a team.
Hero Culture was built to help individuals develop stronger mindsets and live more intentionally. In the process, it changed me too.
Today, I’m looking to take everything I’ve learned about building, leading, creating systems, and understanding people, and bring it into my next chapter, but this time with the right team and the right mission.
If you’re creating something with purpose and positive impact, and you see a place where my experience, clarity, or creativity can help you build, I’d love to talk.
